Affiliate marketers need to have certain things. I consider it important to have a web page where you can put your offers and content.

Then you can just get down to driving traffic to your site, making sales, and earning money.

Still, the beginning affiliate marketer and perhaps even some intermediates, would like it to be low priced and more straightforward than the typical setup.

Take as an example the mass of web pages called Squidoo.

It’s really just another website except for it’s size and variety of content. It’s VERY well known at Google.

Last I heard there were about 900,000 individual pages on this huge website and those pages are called “lenses” by the “Squids.”

Here are 5 good reasons to use Squidoo as an affiliate marketer.

The first reason is your cost for the hosting space. It’s zero.

The second reason is the cost of registering a domain name. It’s zero too!

Squidoo loks good because it’s practically effortless, AND it’s very low cost, especially when compared to the typical cost of hosting and domain at about $100 to $130 per year.

That doesn’t sound like much, and it isn’t if your site is making money or if you just have plenty of it. But for affiliates who are just starting and a lot of intermediates too, it’s just perfect.

The third reason, and one of big importance to affiliates, is that it is relatively easy to get indexed by Google for your lens. Really it’s a web page. But Google seems to like them.

If you pick your domain name with a keyword relevant to your sites content, that you can easily rank for, and you put it at the beginning of your domain name, you will be started off really well.

Doing a good job optimizing your page (lens) for your relevant keyword, is the best way to get your site to come up on the search results page in Google. Google page one for almost ANY keyword will result in some kind of traffic.

The fourth reason to go with Squidoo is that you are not alone. There is lots of assistance.

This would have really helped me when I was getting started because it seemed like, for me, everything new wasn’t just new…it seemed wierd…alien even. I didn’t “get it.”

Squdoo helps you in a dozen ways and you can see for yourself by just going there and looking around.

In addition, there is a forum where you can go and ask questions and get answers. Maybe later you can even answer some questions.

The fifth reason to use these pages (lenses) is because they work!

By work I mean that you can make them look like a great web page. You can also get them to have a good bit of traffic. And you can engage in direct sales right there.

If you’d like a landing page, this is it!

And that’s not all. You will learn a lot!

Many of the stumbling blocks a typical newcomer or even intermediate affiliate marketer will run into are completely eliminated by this alternative. The first reason that comes to mind is the FREE domain name and hosting.

Go there, join up and start your first lens. Start fooling around with it. Learn how to do a few of the things you need to get a halfway decent site up. There’s going to be plenty of assistance if you get stuck.

In a week to two weeks you could have an affiliate site up, indexed, and getting traffic.

Watch out because IF you do this, the next thing that will happen is that you will get a sale. A sale that didn’t cost you anything but your time and effort.

Only now you’ll know how to repeat it and increase your income.

Make sure you’re providing value and interest before promoting your products which can be done at the end. You can add to that by following up with people’s problems and questions.

By following this model, you will gain and maintain quite a following and people will still see the potential of your affiliates and marketing programs without feeling beat over the head.

As for promoting your products here are some tips:

- Your content must be good in order for potential customers to see that your products are worth it to them.

- The timing on when to release certain mnarketing promotions can be vital to your success. Study the successful marketers and see what they’re doing.

- Offering variety in your strategies keeps things interesting and unique. Include things like backlinking and viral marketing.

A final tip: understand your competition. This can be somewhat of a shortcut to internet marketing success. Think “Coke vs. Pepsi” or “Burger King vs. McDonalds.” It is critical you know what your competition is up to and what’s working for them.

Check out their websites. Which ones do you like? If you like them others probably will to. Can you duplicate them in certain ways to make yours better?

What products are they soon launching and which ones are selling well for them? There is nothing wrong from learning from the competition and doing the same that’s working for them. You can use their ideas to help you create your own.

If you are in business the most important thing you’ll want to do is get traffic to your site. To do this without spending anything on advertising is the ‘holy grail’ of internet marketing. Leanne Griffiths review’s one such program.

By now, you’ve probably heard all about it – I mean, it’s all over the forums, and the Alexa ranking for this site is insane right now.

It is important you compare products and prices becuase you can get ripped off there are many scams out there that do not deliver what they promise.

The Affiliate Code claims to show you step by step via video tutorial how to generate free web traffic. But does it deliver what it promises? I put it to the test and let me tell you I was surprised at the outcome. Let me tell you why.

There are other programs out there that will help you with getting web traffic (either buying web traffic or SEO optimization)which I have purchased and tested but let me say I am no technical wizard by any means and I had to ask for a refund for many due the complexity of the programs and the lack of support or help. (I will refrain from sharing them here as it is not appropriate as this was my own personal experience but I would be happy to talk to anyone directly. Some of the better products out there are 7 Figure Marketing School and Triaffiliates. These also work and are inexpesive ways or getting your business listed organically in google.

So I purchased Michael Jones’s Affiliate Code to report back to my clients on the effectiveness of the program. The program costs between $57-$77 USD (it does have and exit pop up which discounts the price. FYI – The discount you get is $20 which makes this product good value for money.

Now I have to say I was skeptical, I’ve been around and spent a lot of money (some good investments some not so good) on programs like this. For me the best thing about the program is he actually takes you step by step through the training of HOW TO actually generate free traffic to your website.

He tells you WHAT to do, show you HOW to do it and then shows you a live example of implementing this method from start to finish. So for me that was great and it was actually very interesting and he kept me engaged with a little humor thrown in too. (I like talking to people and presenting and writing but start talking about meta tags, back links, SER, SEO and my eyes start glazing over!)

The training is excellent and motivates you to implement it and I did try this technique on one of my websites (I really need help with sales at the time!)

In about 24 hours I had double the amount traffic going my site www.7figmarkschool.com and in 48 hours I had tripled my sales from the same time the week before.

BUT there is a downside folks. My website actually crashed (well my server did) and it took me a day to fix so I lost sales during that period and I am not too happy with that. I did send feedback that they should put a warning on the training video that you must check with your website sever people to ensure it can handle the traffic surge. Talk to your server/website people that within days and weeks you could have massive traffic to the site and ensure the server can handle that. The other benefit of using this program is to generate organic listings for your website. You do not appear in the sponsor ads section which many people who are searching for something ignore anyway.

My tips for ensuring you get the most out of this program:

1. Take your time and DON’T SKIP any of the training – you may think you know but even I learnt a lot going over topics that I thought I know all there was to know. So become a student and learn and take notes during the tutorial.

2. Use the tools he gives you – you can download an excel file which is completely formatted with calculations and analytics that will save you hours and hours of work. Don’t reinvent the wheel!

3. If you don’t’ understand something you can email Michael (the support is fantastic) and he will respond.

4. Try it on your website and ensure you action this. Most importantly is you need to know how it all works so you can show someone else to do this if you decide to outsource and he shows you how to get others to do this to.

In conclusion using Michael Jones’s Affiliate Code will generate free web traffic to your website and it will get you on the front page of Google and Yahoo but you MUST follow my advice above or it will become just another bit of software gathering dust in your office draw!

There are many sites available that offer leads. However it can be confusing trying to figure out where to start. What works best? Who can you trust? Which are the most effective?

You may have to realize it will take effort and time to get quality leads. If you’re in your business for the long haul that should be your attitude anyway.

Perhaps create your own website offering your own tips on how to create income from home. Then work at getting visitors to that site.

Right now you are probably in the middle of researching ILearningGlobal, as was I not too long ago. One of my friends actually asked me to look into this company before he would join it, so of course I did. Since I did so much research, I thought that I would give you the low down on it right now.

Being the good friend that I am, I agreed! I am here right now to share with you everything that I have found. I will give you the pros and the cons; really everything that you need to make an informed decision.

When most people think of mlm they think of amway soap, vitamin juices, and Shaklee. This company does not closely resemble a single one of them.

It is centered around informational products. The products that the 99 dollar monthly membership purchases teach entrepreneurs and business owners about how to run a successful business.

This could be a turn off to certain people, but come to think of it this is more of a strength than it is a weakness. Knowledge is power. The more an opportunity tries to educate their distributors the better those distributors and that opportunity are going to be. That’s just the way it works.

I would have liked to see more opportunities based around training sooner than this.

Right now I am not a member of it. This is a third party honest review. Because of that I really can’t give you any stories or statistics of my earnings personally with ILearningGlobal. I wish that I could, however at this time I am not able to.

Then again I have seen enough people drop out of network marketing to know that it takes a little bit more than one training session to make any real kind of money.

To really start to make a lot of money in network marketing you are going to need a lot of traffic coming to your websites. Whether it be to your blog or to your lead capture page, you will need a lot of traffic. I would have to say that that is the main reason that people do NOT succeed in this industry of online/network marketing. They just can’t seem to hack traffic generation. Whether it be because of lack of consistency or because they just have no idea how to attract people to their sites, some people just do not have enough visitors to make any serious amount of money.

It’s all too often overlooked.

I’m not one to talk. A couple of months ago I was in that exact same position.

I had everything set up and ready to go. Lead capture pages, sales pages, blogs, emails. You name it, I had it.

The only problem with it was that NOBODY SAW IT. So in the end I still wasn’t making any money.

Membership sites are Internet web sites offering a product or service that can only be accessed by those that have signed up to become a member.

Sometimes this requires a fee upfront before allowing you access to any of the material on the site and other times certain pages and topics will be available to anyone who signs up but they will also offer a paid upgrade. This paid upgrade gives the member access to any additional information in the form of videos, forums (to interact with other members), interviews and any other medium that offers extra value.

In days past, starting a membership site required the purchase of a membership script or software designed especially for this purpose. As membership sites started to explode on the Internet, various plug-ins were created that allowed bloggers to turn their blog (such as a WordPress blog) into a membership site.

Membership sites have been around for a long time. Think about it, physical products have often been offered through joining a membership site. In order to retain your excitement and enthusiasm it is always best to stay within a passion of yours. Writing on a topic that is really of no interest to you will eventually take its toll as your enthusiasm wanes and your writing suffers.

In order to retain members your content must be unique, of high value and not easily found elsewhere for free.

The Internet is changing how people access information. More and more people are discovering that joining a membership site that offers the information they are seeking, can actually save them precious time and energy that can better be put to use towards their own dreams and ambitions.

We have always paid for information in the past without a second thought. Whether it be newspapers, schooling, magazines, journals…or expanded television choices. The Internet is no different. Soon what was once freely accessed will only be available behind closed doors as the information highway becomes a toll road.

How To MAXIMIZE Your Listing’s Exposure On eBay

When listing an item for sale on eBay you first need to decide which eBay category (or categories) you are going to list your item in because WHO you are selling to will determine HOW you will list it.

For instance, a Swiss Army Knife is a multi-functional tool that has many uses. It is useful for campers, fishermen, etc. If you wanted to list it in the Sporting Goods > FISHING > Universal Accessories category, your title and sales copy (the words you use in your listing) will be different to how you list it in the Sporting Goods > CAMPING > Knives & Tools category.

To find appropriate categories to list your item in, click on “Buy” at the top of eBay’s page, then enter keywords that are relevant to your item in the first search box. Continuing my Swiss Army Knife example, relevant keywords to do searches on would be “Swiss Army Knife”, “Camping Knife”, “Fishing Knife”, etc.

Once you’ve entered relevant keywords in the first search box, select “All Categories” from the drop down menu in the second search box then click “Search”. On the search results page, on the left under “Refine search” you will see a list of all the categories that everyone else in your market is using. To find the best categories to list in click on each of these categories in turn and then click on the “Completed listings” option under “Preferences” on the left hand side. (You must be signed in to your account for the “Completed listings” option to appear.)

You can now see which listings in which categories attracted the most bids and which sold at the highest prices. These are the categories that you need to list in. Don’t worry about the competition. You need competition to have a market. Don’t make the mistake of listing in the wrong category so you have less competition – people who see your auction won’t be interested in it because they aren’t looking for your item in that category! Also eBay will remove your listing (and if you persist – close your account) if you list in the wrong category.

Consider listing in different categories if appropriate. TEST, TEST, TEST! It’s very cheap and easy to test each category that you think might be relevant – that’s one of the beauties of eBay!

As well as testing different categories, consider testing other country’s eBay sites. One of the major benefits of eBay (and the internet) is you can reach the whole world from your home. eBay has sites for many countries. The US is still the most popular and by far the biggest site. By selling in more than one country, you have a bigger market and so are likely to sell more. Plus your product may be more popular abroad than at home and/or may be easy to get at home but impossible to get abroad, making it a much more sought after product abroad than it is at home.

It would be very cheap and easy for you to run a few test auctions on various eBay sites to find out if your products sell well abroad. You will find a list of links to each eBay site at the bottom of your country’s eBay home page. Naturally it would be easier to list your items for sale on other eBay sites that are in English. But if you are fluent in French, for example, there is no reason why you couldn’t list your items for sale in French on the French eBay site. Or perhaps you know someone who is fluent in French who could translate your listing for you? If not, you might be able to find someone who will translate your listing for you at a very reasonable price at elance dot com.

This article is about running an eBay business but there are many other online auction sites, although they don’t get as much traffic as eBay does. Some are very specialist. You may find one that caters specifically for your niche so why not test listing on that site with listing on eBay as well as testing different eBay categories and different eBay national sites?
